What is that they keep saying 'I thought you're dead' to Adam?? I'm not impressed with their humor. :(

Are they the ones that hung up on Adam?

Obviously, you don't get Australian humor but Adam does and you can tell he enjoys it ..... and NO, they didn't hang up on him .... geez. And if you don't get Australian humor, you won't get British humor either.

10:59, DJs at an Australian station DID hang up on Adam recently as part of their mean and stupid 'Australian humor'.

Yeah, lighten up Glamberts. It was a fun interview. Aussies don't take themselves too seriously. No one hung up on anyone - telephone malfunction & then they were reconnected.

OMG it appears some don't get the Aussie humor! Adam is an adopted Aussie and has been
for years! They love him like crazy.

As Adam would say "It aint that deep".

Well, it wasn't THIS interview, and if you'd actually listened to THAT particular interview instead of ranting about it, you would know why the phone was hung up.

C'mon debbie downers, live a little and get a sense of humor.

THIS interview was very fun. Too bad the phone crapped out for few minutes, but they made the most of it with some funny schtick, and then the phone re-connected. Adam was fine with it all. Went with the flow.

It was a different I tervirw where they did hang up on Adam and interviewed the winner of Eurovision instead.

What has happened to this place? Most of the comments are mean to other readers. That is not necessary. Even if you disagree there is no need to be so rude. Can we please try to get back to the polite place this was?

Lol as usual some of you are very mixed up. An Australian radio show did hang up on adam and basically made a fool of him and his fans. They carried on about it for two days.

This is the tweet from the station that hung up on Adam.

@June 4, 2015 at 6:36 AM I'm not sure how it made a fool of Adam and his fans, from my point of view it makes them look like the fools.

How do we decide get a pass on their humor and who doesn't? We need a system that says "you must laugh because we/I say so"?

I thought they were quick witted and slightly goofy....so, of course I loved them!
I come from a quick witted/goofy family so Aussies are dear to my heart.

What is all the fuss about. It was a good and a relaxed interview. Adam was his cute and funny self. No one hung up on him, in fact from the way he was apologizing, Adam seemed to think he had done something wrong. I thought the jokes afterwards when they were reconnected was very funny , and in no way detrimental to Adam or his fans. All in all a good interview, and fun to listen to.

I didn't listen to the interviews where the phone was hung up on Adam or the one that seemed to give the dj's in question so many laughs, but regardless of Aussie gallows humor or not, it would seem rude. Adam is out trying to promote his music and with so many gb's sacrificing to make multiple purchases,, gifting etc., it does seem rude. It's a business and Adam is making a great effort to put himself out there, trying to cover all the bases in order to succeed and it's serious to him and his fans. Sometimes humor is appropriate and other times it's time to be a professional.

If you did not listen to those particular interviews, how would you have an opinion, as to whether they were rude to Adam or not. I did listen to them and they were not rude to Adam, Adam has a great sense of humor, and you could tell he enjoyed the interview. It was obviously a technical problem with the phones, no one hung up on Adam.

People especially one the same old one making trouble where I see none. Adam done these things before Auzzie they have that kind of sense of humour.
This was funny and Adam as usual took it with his lovely sense of humour.
I heard the DJs there in the past they what a lovely man he is. They put in that I love GT plug that's what's important.
I am sure they joked about it for a few days milking the moment why not, big deal.
I in no way heard them make fun of Adam fans at all. Why would they he certainly has some in Austrailia.

I really hate to sound like another contributor here who has questioned people's comprehension capacity, and perhaps I am the one about to be in the wrong here, but you posters just above me - there were two separate incidents. One where there was a phone connectivity problem, and another, separate, incident, which I am not going to give any more attention to except to mention it here because some of you are misinformed about what others have posted about. Please correct me if I am mistaken, I will be more than fine to be proven wrong!!! But as I understand it, there were two separate incidents, so stop being demeaning to those posters here who have mentioned the incident NOT involved with this thread's radio station, they are not crazy!! Even if they, or I, am mistaken, fine, but it's still worth noting that there certainly is room for confusion, so imho, other's should stop posting to other contributors here like they are being fussy or pissy or foolish in their not quite understanding fully what went on with the "hang up" thing. I don't mean to tell anybody what to do, but sheesh, can we be a little less quick to pull the trigger at people's questions or wanting to clear something up, this is a fan blog. This is my first time posting in this thread, btw.

2:57 here. My post above was worded very poorly. It wasn't easy to understand, too verbose. I apologize. I should have proofread it. However, I hope my POV did come through nevertheless. There were two "phone connection", so to speak, issues that happened with Adam and radio stations. The momentary connection problem with the radio station interview that is the subject of this thread was, imho, NOT an problem and did not seem to result in anything but good fun. However, there was another, separate incident with a different radio station I believe. I am not going to give my opinion on the comedic value of it, as I am well aware of the comedic endeavors of radio stations, they take a lot of leeway with their "bits"...
But I hate to see, in the 24/7 comments sections, some comments jumped on and some contributors addressed like they are crazy or foolish for asking about the confusion with it all. It is easy to see, imho, how some became confused. One poster at the beginning of the thread felt fairly certain that there was a bit of an off-color, to them, incident with Adam and being hung up on - they were really not so far from the truth, I don't quite understand why we have to treat that poster and others who have made inquiries so unkind. JS.

Thank you for your help, as to how we should conduct ourselves on here. But we are free to comment without the need of your instructions. Peace.

Anonymous said...

5:00pM you mean you actually read those two comments? Lol

Anonymous said...

2:57 and 3:09, you are correct, they are two separate incidents at two different radio stations. It has been clarified in the comments so I don't get why people don't get it yet.

Anonymous said...

People,

In the simplest terms...

Two different radio calls are being talked about here.

104.1 where they had a great conversation with Adam and a bit of a glitch.

105 where all they did was hang up on Adam on purpose.

Anonymous said...

@11:11 In days of manners, when you hung up on ppl, it was considered an insult.

Didn't people listen to the FIRST interview carefully or read the tweet, the link to which has been posted here? It was an interview where listeners chose whom they wanted interviewed i.e. the Swedish guy who won Eurovision this year or Adam and the one they didn't wanted interviewed would have their call hung up. It was just a game and maybe the people who were listening weren't familiar with Adam but perhaps were very familiar with the Swedish Eurovision 2015 winner because Eurovision is always televised in Australia. Adam would've known what the deal was. Here's the twitter link again ......

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CGcO7owWoAEzhKX.png

This SECOND interview was fun. The phone became disconnected but was reconnected quickly so the interview could continue. Adam seems to enjoy Australian interviews because they're different/entertaining and give him a good laugh.

9:30 PM, people watching twitter said there were overwhelming tweets for Adam then the DJs let one person on the phone choose. After that they deleted their tweet about choosing and just retweeted complaining glamberts and made fun of glamberts on the radio. Really sad.

Anonymous said...

@9:30 PM
Thanks for that.

Adam has a very well-developed sense of humor.

11.17 PM
I guess Glamberts complained bitterly that the person didn't choose Adam.
Hell hath no fury like a Glambert's scorn.
