Adam Lambert mention: Who Should Play Frank-N-Furter in Fox's Rocky Horror Reboot?

Adam Lambert
How Fox hasn't done a musical filled with former American Idol standouts is as baffling to us as the fact that Lambert isn't a bigger star than he is. The pipes on this guy alone could score him this gig, but then you throw in his unapologetically theatrical style and it just seems like a custom fit, right?

"A bigger star than he is"?????? WTF?? Has this author been living in a cave the past two years?
What a jerk......i take offense to that comment.

He means that Adam should be a bigger star than he is, Adam will probably become a much bigger star than he is now, when his new album comes out. Adam is really only big with his fans, he hasn't reached the top yet, but he is steadily climbing, he hasn't reached Rihanna status.

I don't take offense to the statement at all.. In fact, I agree.. I mean REALLY!!!!! I do believe Adam's time is coming in a very big way....

This isn't an offensive comment at all. On the contrary, it's very positive.

No, I don't want to see Adam playing Frankenfurter. Please NOOOOO! He's better than that. Besides, nobody can replace Tim Curry's over the top performance, a very homely man who looks like a million bucks in drag. Adam has bigger and better things in his future.

They will go with a big name for this role. Adam will never even be considered.

This role is not a good fit for Adam no matter what.

9:22 PM,

"as baffling to us as the fact that Lambert isn't a bigger star than he is."

This means they think Adam is a star and should be a bigger star.

Did you misunderstand or are you saying you think Adam is a global super star already and couldn't be a bigger star?

Donna W there are lots of people who do not know who Adam is. He should be on the same level of fame as the great superstars . IMHO

Coming out of Idol, Adam was expected to skyrocket to the top of music stardom. Obviously, his path did not go that way. It's taken other twists and turns. Lots of people, including his core fan base, believe he can become the superstar that he should be, accepted not only by his core fans, but by a wide mainstream audience, too. He's just not there yet. I think the writer's comment is really a compliment. It says that Adam is worthy of the highest status. He's still working on it.

As for Frank N. Furter, I think it would be a delicious part for whoever gets it. Adam would do a great job, I think. NPH did Hedwig beautifully. NPH is an established actor both on TV and in movies and theater. The question is, does Adam want a pars like this? Would be prefer more sexually conventional parts? I don't think he will be offered the part, but I hope he gets a shot at acting at some point. More high-profile music success just might give him the chance. One great hit song could make all the difference.

I think all of us who have been fans since day one, wished that Adam had achieved much greater recognition and success, particularly here at home, for his albums and single releases. He is an international star and they absolutely love him in the Far East. Through his tour with Queen, Adam has received phenomenal reviews and the momentum has really built up for this third album and the release of the first single. But if you are not a fan and don't follow any of the Adam sites, most people don't know about the new single. Has it really been talked about at all on any of the entertainment/talk/music shows? Maybe once it is released and gets radio play, we will see Adam performing it on various tv shows. I certainly hope so. I remember all the promos and interviews he did for Trespassing and it really did not received the recognition that it deserved. I hope the third time is the charm and everyone will be talking about Ghost Town and then The Original High all summer long.

6:47 AM, can you please provide your source for measuring that Adam is absolutely loved in the Far East? Adam is absolutely loved in the US too.

I wish I had the patience to read some of these long *ss comments.

Adam is an international star and now doing well in the UK. Some have stated on here he is mainstream in the UK now. He tried long and hard for recognition on the UK thanks to his fronting Queen and thanks to the over the top fantastic sexy job he did as their current from man. He could have been booed off that stage. He took on a very hard and controversial job. That took a lot of guts. He could have been booed off that stage but instead he won them overnight after night and did a magnificent job. The NYE show and X Factor Adam and Queen did went a long way for his finally achieving long over do recognition in the UK well deserved I might as. I also believe the new single and the TOH will go a long way to making him a bigger star their a hopefully earning him the stardom he deserves here. I really believe Adam time is coming in America and even bigger abroad and in America. That one big song you are talking about hopefully is GT. It sure sounds like promising so far
He big thing is by Adams own words he finally has a label that is finally backing him fully. Looks to me like they are willing to put in the bucks to back Adam and the TOH. They got one of the biggest producers out there right now MM he won a Grammy for producer of the year this year. Doubt that MM and S come cheap. Think those producers are one big reason he hopefully will get thT radio play. I think all he needs is GT to be played well to be successful.

By all accounts sounds like the song is something special. I really feel with WB and his new music Adam will hopefully getting one step closer to that big star status in America. He has accomplished so much In the last few years one of the biggest out of Idol. Carrie U big here but not internationally Adam is one of the very few from Idol to be international. He accomplished a lot and I think with the new album and single and the new label and producers he worked with his time for really getting that big star status is in sight.

Adam main priority right now is the single and new album and promoting it. He will do promos on TV I am sure to begin with. The more successful it is the more shows he will
Be on. I can't wait for the single to drop it sounds so fantastic by all accounts.

Never under estimate Adam he would be amaizing in a musical and some day he will do one. But right now his priorities are the album and single and things he continues to do with Queen. That Rio festival will certainly up his star status abroad another notch and it will be on TV. As well.

Adams time for be considered for many opportunities is coming. He already fronted one of the biggest rock bands of all times and does that rock band love him. Now it sounds like his new single is fantastic so proud of him. Now out of hospital having to do much therapy long road back but at least it will get better eventually. It's a long post have not posted In a while others will
Be shorter.. GT sounds so amaizing. Sue

Have always felt that Adam has not gotten the recognition his talent deserves. The reason why has be attributed to any and everything. Outside of the internet Adam is virtually invisible and the reason I say that is when I was without internet for over 6 months, there was only one mention of Adam via other media. Needs more multimedia US exposure. Sure international fame is nice but needs some home acclaim.

Anonymous said...

As a fan I want everything for Adam now: success, recognition, fame, money...
I feel Adam is already on the way, but a long longevity is also important to him. So he is probably welcoming this long journey to the stardom too.

A major hit song can bring opportunities for TV and other media. Hit songs are very powerful. It's true that Adam is virtually unmentioned outside of the internet sites, both fan sites and online media sites. He has to find a way to get more mainstream radio, TV and other media exposure.

Hmmmmmmm.....I haven't been paying attention to comments. I've been too caught up in the idea of Adam in black bustier....panties with garters and fishnet stockings!

Adam is THERE* already.

The mainstream US is no way near recognizing that he is THERE* and he will never be THERE* in US, unless there is a major change in the way of mainstream thinking, attitudes, tastes, life in general.

No matter how hard Adam works or how successfully his label, management etc works, he will not get the success he so deserves just because a huge part of the so called mainstream will not lend their ear "to his kind" how ever good the songs are!

Asking Adam to work harder or thinking that he only needs that "one hit song" - do you really think that is the answer, that changes it all?

*THERE = in a league of his own, undeniable worldwide superstar class

Never say never!

To @ 2:04AM; So sad to read your comment stating " he will not get the success he so deserves because the so- called mainstream will not listen "to his kind" no matter how good the song. I hope this is not true after all this time that Adam first performed on Idol. Sam Smith seems to have achieved great success and he is gay. There is so much "crap" out there in the world of music today and it would be so unfortunate for the talented Adam Lambert to still suffer from the "gay" stigma. I guess we will just have to wait and see as to how "Ghost Town" is received and promoted.

There are people who will never forget or forgive the AMA scandel. It was a horrendous mistake. That's the "stigma."
