Adam Lambert part:
American Idol continues to shuffle its judges around in order to generate interest, even generating an attention-grabbing Nicki Minaj-Mariah Carey feud to get anyone to watch, but that show hasn't produced a star since Adam Lambert claimed the runner-up slot five years ago. Off the top of your head, can you name who he beat? (If you said Kris Allen, you get a prize.) And can you name any of the Idol winners since?

Many xIdols didn't land up big stars but they are making a decent living so I wouldn't mock anyone.

Phillip Phillips and Scotty McCreery are going to be suprised to read that.

I saw two of "The Voice" winners who were fronting for Adam . . . sorry I can't remember their names or any of the other winners (The Voice) and I like to watch that show once in a while.

I probably could name about 10 winners or runner ups from Idol.

Always said Adam broke it (American Idol)

@11:15
Those two don't grab attention anywhere else except country music loving US.

Agreed, Adam broke Idol for me, as well.

Adam has a celebrity star quality that the others don't have, IMO. Even those from the show who have sold more records than he has just don't have the star quality. I know country music is probably the biggest selling genre in the U.S. and has millions of fans who buy that music.

Everyone has their own preferences and favorites, but somehow, some way, Adam stands out from the crowd. Sheer voice talent beyond the others, incredible stage presence, and on and on. I would bet that an average person who never watched AI would know Adam's name but perhaps not some of the other winners. PP and SM are very nice singers, and quite successful. I can't compare them to AL, because to me, there is no comparison. Music is very personal. You just have to love who you love.

Not into country music but so it's so popular in the U.S.

They have built some of those ex Idols up to the hilt; they have had them sing at ball games, and some not sounding so good, in my opinion. Given them opportunities to sing at other large events. Pushed them on audiences and some have had lots of radio play; and sometimes it just seems so unfair. I see on the upcoming AMA'S, people from other countries they being pushed way ahead of Adam; sick of the excuse, "he does not have an album out", he did two years ago and each year after, still there were no appearances on these award shows, except to present once or twice. Justin B., use to get in all kinds of trouble and they used to have him and many other's on, no matter what they did; but still no Adam who gets into no trouble; the greatest singer and nicest guy around is shunned in my opinion. Many people did not have new albums and they were on these shows!

Better get with it people; and have this wonderful talented man on some of these shows so that I can watch them again; it is about "damn time"!!!

Adam is just so good.there are no other male singers out there with his vocal instrument. They fear him!

V Camilleri . . . . . I agree

I agree that Adam needs to be on the award and performance shows like DWTS. The AMA performance in 2009 did not help with this. Yes, it was 5 years ago, however, the media has a way of bringing that up whenever they can. If Adam did appear on the AMAs as a performer, the media will bring up the 2009 performance. It will take several top tier performances before that old one is not mentioned in the press.

Adam is probably the most talented performer who has not sold alot of full CDs and #1 singles. It is that that is holding him back from these top tier shows. The producers want the acts that will bring eyeballs, that is why we see the same acts over and over. Since these acts keep putting out new music and there are enough of them to keep in rotation, there is not a lot of chances to break through. Acts that do break in have a song that is a big hit and then they get booked. Unfortunately for Adam, his biggest hit was right after the AMA performance. Trespassing, although critically acclaimed, did not sell well enough for Adam to tour it, and he did not have a song that charted high enough. Unless and until he has a hit song, it will be easy for these producers to leave him off the bill. Once he has that hit, it will be difficult for them to leave him off the bill. He needs to break into that top tier if he wants to be the star that he can be. The general public judges success by whether or not you get those bookings. Adam needs to become a judge on a music talent show. Or, at least someone called in to mentor on a show other than Idol. The gig with Queen is great for Adam's fans and hopefully he will garner some new fans. It is not elevating him to the top tier of artists who are getting these bookings. If Adam and Queen were performing on TV shows, it could elevate him to this top tier quicker.
