Some Illustrative Pictures and EXCERPTS from the article:

"Lighting designer Rob Sinclair has turned to the fantastically bright beams of 40 VL3500 Wash FX luminaires, supplied by Upstaging, to hold their own amidst the vibrant and energetic onstage elements of the current Queen + Adam Lambert tour."

""I needed lights that were bright enough to illuminate people and cut through everything else on stage," explains Sinclair. "As it's Queen everything has to be over the top, starting huge and getting bigger, which is why I chose the powerful VL3500 Wash FX luminaires." "

"The stage itself is in the shape of a giant 'Q', with the tail of the letter coming off as a B-stage. The VL3500 Wash FX luminaires were rigged on the front and side trusses and as part of the floor package upstage."

"Sinclair's large-scale design evokes a retro feel that highlights Queen's legacy, but with a contemporary edge........."

The stage, the big Q et al, the lighting, lasers and all the colours with these modern gadgets by these skillful people plus "smoke & pyros" - WOW, WOW, WOW! A big part in the success of this tour imo.

Don't understand anything about stage lighting techniques or terminology, but I sure wanna give highest kudos to the makers/designers/techies etc of these more than wonderful QAL shows --- it's been so amazing to watch these shows via youtube vids, can't even imagine how it would be to see and experience everything LIVE!!!

Therefore also a great big thank you to everybody taking and sharing vids, a lifeline for fans not able to see the shows LIVE!

Can't wait for the next one!!!

@glitzylady, you put me to shame, showbiz guy that I am. You need to get PAID to do detective work! Always impressed with how you find such divine nuggets about Adam and/or the Q+AL tour. Bravo, mama!

I'm like Vagrant, I don't understand this wonderful technology but am in awe of it. These folks are artists in their own way. I was not able to attend any live shows either but I love all who keep us entertained and informed through vids and sites like 24/7. Y'all are amazing. Thank you.
