Old news..but new today in the LA Times:

"A place to crash after the tour"

"Adam Lambert, an "American Idol" runner-up who has gone on to a successful career in music, has bought a home in Hollywood Hills West for $2.995 million.

The Modern-style house was built in 1947 and has been renovated. A sweeping exterior staircase follows the shape of a curved wall with a tall glass-brick window.

The nearly 3,800 square feet of living space includes a dining room with a floor-to-ceiling climate-controlled wine room, an oversized kitchen with commercial-grade appliances and a diner-style booth/breakfast room, a den with a fireplace, a screening room and a gym.

The master suite has a fireplace, a sitting area and a spa-like bathroom for a total of three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Ferns and lush landscaping fill the courtyard-style backyard, which features a grotto spa.

Lambert, 32, took second place on a hotly contested "Idol" season in 2009, the same year he released the album "For Your Entertainment." While he has continued to release albums and tour, he also has been doing soundtrack work for television as well as acting. Since last year, he has been on five episodes of "Glee."

He is touring North America, Asia and Australia this summer with Queen, filling in for the late Freddie Mercury. L.A. fans can catch them Thursday at the Forum.

Jeff Yarbrough and Chris Jacobs of Keller Williams were the listing agents. Brad Downs of Rodeo Realty represented Lambert."

A very nice pad to crash in. I think he is slowly filling his bucket list of dreams. I know he doesn't like living alone, so may be some day that dream will come also.

I would be so uncomfortable if half the world knew details about my new home - price, layout, and all. Yes, I was excited to see the pictures too, but still, I realize that celebrity life can't always be easy.

Adam's home sounds so nice and rumor has it he paid cash for it.

I'm surprised the house doesn't have a pool. Maybe he will have one put in later on. And you are right about publicizing the details about the house. There are too many individuals out there lately who have been stalking and breaking in celebs' home even with security. I hope Adam enjoys his new surroundings after working so hard to be able to afford something like this.

Ryan asked Adam about his new home in that last radio phone interview and was congratulating him on it. He asked Adam if he had a pool; Adam said no, but that there was space for one if he decided to put one in. That back yard is beautiful with a waterfall outdoor sauna that looks as big as a small pool to me. I just love his back yard. Yes I heard he had been saving up for the purchase of his home and word is he paid cash for it!

Sometimes when you have found your ideal home that you can afford; a pool probably would not be the main priority; especially when you have the space for one. You can always add those kind of things at anytime.
