I probably already have all his best music so I won't be getting it. Waiting for his new music.

If it has any of the Idol studio version songs, I'm gone take a serious look at it. Otherwise, I'm with 9:34 AM. Best of is just an opinion, we'll see.

allot of times labels add a couple unreleased songs with best of compilations.

thats a strategy that labels use in order to get people to buy a CD of mostly already released material. "Best Of" is a subjective term and doesn't always mean the same thing

Why would I a buy a collection of music I already have? I own both albums, all the AI tracks, and all of the other singles like LMD that he has released. He hasn't put out enough albums to have a "best of" album. Now days, it's just too easy to buy only the singles that are your favorite on ITunes. In fact, i wonder how long the concept of the album will even survive. Unless every single song is a resounding hit, I see people buying only the singles they like and skipping the rest. That's the music industry these days.

If it gets on iTunes I will Cherry pick.

The biggest selling point for this will be that collectors of everything Adam will buy it because it qualifies.

Every single time Adam Lambert has new music coming out; someone or something from the past tries to jump on the bandwagon!!! If this happens, it may help; it may not, none of us know. Nothing can be done about it. So, I guess everyone will have to deal with in the best way that maybe helpful to Adam and his interest, if that is possible. The music business is what it is. Cut throat at it's best! Unless, you have your own company, or label; or can get your music out other way!

I think the best way for us Glamberts to handle this is to overreact, jump to conclusions and make up ways to get more upset about this.

I think this can only be a POSITIVE thing. I'm excited if the rumors hold true, and I cant' wait to see what tracks will be on the compilation. If I like it, I will buy it. Simple as that. Why over think everything and worry? Don't get it.

Very interesting to see confirmed by Shoshanna that artists don't make $$ on music. Seems like their music is a way to market themselves to make money through other venues, mostly concerts I assume.

I think it's ok to buy this if you want. I would never buy BFM though. The time it was released and Adam's name on it, people thought it was his new album. I'd say it was a fraud.

I really don't think MOST posting on this thread are overreacting, I think they are just discussing in a way that shows that they care about Adam; trying to understand what might be going. Discussion can be healthy. Especially if some try not to be so judgmental. I think all of Adam's fans want to participate in a way that will best benefit Adam. No one really knows what that is at this time. So discussion and more information, in my opinion leads to a healthy informative discussion, and perhaps help fans make up their own mind about what is the best thing to do. If Adam weighs in, then we will know for sure what he feels might be the best thing to do!

I guess your way to deal with this situation is sarcasm, hope it makes you feel better? Each person has to deal with the unknown in their own way. Main think is that all of Adam's fans just want what is best for him.

If it helps by putting Adam's name up high on iTunes or Amazon charts I'll buy it. When is the date of release? That's when I buy it.

That is what I took away from Shoshanna's exchange. Also they make money thru endorsements and any personal appearances like American Idol. The music is how they become known.

It says It's available May 27. I'll wait until then to find out more about the tracks. It's a vague deal and Shoshanna's tweets aren't too clear to buy it or not.

My suggestion is to wait until May 27th. That's when we have clear idea who is putting this out for fans to buy it.

Oh, I had forgotten there was the Take One album. I'll forget it again.

Adam will be in VERY good company by being included in this series....

I think it's rather impressive and fabulous that Adam will have his own "Best Of" compilation out there... If nothing else, there may be some people perusing the available artists' playlists and they may just discover some good music, and a fabulous vocal artist named Adam Lambert that way.... I assume it's only available in mp3 format.

I see nothing wrong with this at all.. and obviously neither does Shoshonna..She knows far more than most fans as to how this all works, and what is important and what isn't.

I also cannot imagine that is will be mistaken for Adam's new music.. Or will cause problems for Adam. At all. There was an issue in 2012 with ..another.. album that was marketed as "Adam Lambert's new music" which WAS confusing, and even even misleading, but this is NOT along those lines. It's put out by Sony, who owns his music and as Shosh said, they can do whatever with it..

Just another way for Adam to get his name out there a little bit more...

Yes! I hope we get vids from the private party! glitzy, I agree that this Best Of...compilation is probably a good thing for Adam, even if he doesn't make money from its sale. At first, I got somewhat resentful about it, but as you say, the fact that his name and music will be out there in another way is a good thing. It shows that he is marketable. He has some good promotion coming out in several ways: Queen tour, LMD's gradual rise (and maybe a U.S. release), his own new music in the near future, and now this Best Of... It certainly can't hurt him. As Shoshanna says, artists make money in many ways, and record sales aren't always the main one. He will do quite well this year, I think, esp. from the tour. So, buy the Best Of if you like, and enjoy it. I don't see it as a negative.

I coudn't find it in Movers and shakers, but this album is #264 in top 100 music sales. When did they put it on pre-sale? Does anybody know? It seems that Sony will make few $$$$ from this album. Also, they planed to release it just few week before tour will start. Rats!

Probably Adam wants to use Sony Music label as distributor and promoter of his third album and the label is testing the water sort of. As long as this compilation is a tool to put Adam's name out there I am fine with it. But I'll wait until 5/27 to get better picture of this album.

Guess I'm confused. Why is it a bad thing to have this CD come out a few weeks before the tour? Doesn't that kind of work as promotion for Adam even if it's old music? If I'm missing something obvious, please explain.

4:37, I think some people are worried new fans will buy this instead of the new album and some people are upset at Sony making more money off of Adam.

All is good for the promotion of Adam. That includes voting and requesting his music on radio. All Glamberts remember all is done to keep Adam in the LIGHT!!

Wasn't Adam originally connected with Sony/RCA? He left them because they wanted him to do an album of covers. So, this would appear to be a last ditch effort to squeeze the last remnants of moolah out of Adam in the form of a "best of" album. I am sure some will buy what has already been recorded in his other two albums, but It certainly won't be me. That's redundant, costly, if you already own the music, and it is lining the pockets of Sony, not Adam.

Adam isn't the only (ex) Sony artist to have this happen but it usually occurs with existing Sony artists. Milking the cow dry, so to speak.

Think they are capitalizing on the Queen tour! It does keep his name out there. His new album will not most likely be out until end of the year.
Hope he gets his single out as close after the queen tour as possible. I think SS would be pushing this more if Adam had any ideas of Sony carrying his new album. I believe he already has backing for that. You never know she sure isn't pushing anyone to buy it. Think most know its not his new album but some new people might not and there will be many new fans. I mean the title kind of self explanatory Adam Lambert best songs what ever called. She was not even aware of it think she would of known if Adam had any thing to do with this album.

Adam may or may not know anything about this album. We don't know one way or the other at this time.. The bottom line is this: Sony owns the music. They do this type of thing with MANY of their label's artists, past and present. It is what it is. If it helps to give Adam a couple (or more) of new fans, good.. If it doesn't.. so be it. I personally see no downside for Adam.

I think we should at least be pleased for Adam...to see that he is considered to be worthy of a "Best Of" compilation album after only 2 album releases.. If we hear anything to the effect that he is not in favor of this or his management is opposed to it, we'll let you all know. Immediately...

Sony's loss loosing Adam. They did give him exposure but forgot to hold onto him.

You do understand that Adam is a very important part of that band wagon; so he does not have to jump on anything; he is already own it, he is "it" along with the other super stars!! Sony has nothing to do with LMD, Brian, Roger or Adam; or the Queen plus Adam events! At least; not to my knowledge.

This is good in time for the coming Queenbert concerts for people who are new to Adam and would like to buy his music.
I usually do that about an artist and would like to get only their BEST in my collection.
It could only be positive except for the negative people here.

I'll wait for the new music. I have Adam's other albums and a list of videos saved on my computer of most of his performances from Idol to the various events and concerts he has done. I would like to have a cd and a dvd of the Queenbert summer concerts. Hopefully that will happen for those of us unable to attend one of those concerts. And if Adam doesn't profit from this compilation album, I don't think I want it.

LOL the "Very Best" of Adam is a forward moving target, Sony, and you shot yourselves in the...um... foot.

Sony may be Greedy but they did launch Adam and as part of that bargain, they do own whatever they own. Still, when it comes to Adam Lambert, I too get very, very Greedy. So I've pre-ordered the "Best Of" on Amazon even tho I must have nearly every note this glorious man has sung.

Especially right now, everything that has Adam's name on it needs to glow money-green to the industry (since extraordinary talent is about 4th on their must-have list.) And, a "Best of" could be a great way for new and renewed fans from GLEE and QUEEN to catch up--although a UT catch-up of Adam performing his music would be even more amazing for them.

So here's hoping there's some unreleased material on the Best of but it doesn't matter much to me if it's one more beam of light for Adam's ever-rising star.
