Did LMD make any chart # in NZ?

Anonymous said...

It's a shame Adam & Nile aren't also on the cover. But I guess that's life in the music world. Just glad that it's finally out there.

Anonymous said...

Avicii is an asshole for not having Adam & Nile on the single cover! Wtf!

Anonymous said...

That's not fair, who played the guitar and who sang. Does that mean they don't get paid either. People looking for Adams music and Nile, wont even know they are on it. BOO

Anonymous said...

Didn't the 3 guys say there were three songs. LMD is only one. Maybe each of them got a song to call their own and we will hear one on Adam's new album and Nile will put his out when he's ready. They will each get top billing for their song.

Anonymous said...

Nice cover. Gee ,start the whinning ladies so Avicii thinks twice about working with Adam again. I am sure Adam and Nile knew how the story was going to go before the album was released and it is their beezWax.

Anonymous said...

HAHAHA! to beezWax
I haven't heard that expression in a coons age.

kitty said...

You can barely see Avicii on this cover.

Anonymous said...

I haven't heard coons age since I was knee high to a glamhopper.lol

I would think that Adam and Nile would both make some money on the success of LMD. They both have writing credits along with Avicii. Avicii must really have unusual contracts with the singers he uses. They getvery little promo for themselves with the songs. I would guess that the release of LMD in the U.S. will depend on its sales in other countries. We can only hope that its does well and convinces Avicii that it is worth releasing here. Let's keep hoping it happens.

It's grasshopper., although yours might be a glamhopper ha ha

@7.07pm, 6.56pm et al

Lay Me Down is Avicii's record, not Adams, not Niles....the most they can hope for is a 'featuring' on the promo.
But they both have writing credits so will get money. the more spins it gets the more money they earn, so request and stream the song where you can.

The way this radio system works here; it might get more play being from Avicii; then when everybody has heard LMD and people discover it is Adam; radio managers can't pull it. Adam will get paid as co-writer and vocalist. After all it is Avicii's album. I am glad that Adam is featured on it; he seems to be getting a lot of buzz from it. How do you think Niles fans might feel; just saying!

Anonymous said...

Yes very simple yet elegant cover of Lay Me Down...Mmm for some unknown reason LMD resonated loud and clear in my brain, the first time I heard it. And even said this may be Adam's breakthrough single. Looks like it's on its way! Doesn't really matter to me if the song belongs to who, everyone knows who! is singing it. lwl! Actually I used...Lay me down in darkness...tell me what you see...in my poem and story. That's how much it made an indent.

If it actually becomes a single here and starts to get radio play; I may actually start listening to some of the radio stations again. Hope the DJ's will say who the vocalist and guitarist is?

Anonymous said...

HK fan is correct. It is Avicii's single and album. Adam and Nile knew what they were getting into when they signed contracts with Avicii.

Just be happy it seems like it is being released world wide. People will find out it is Adam and Nile featured.

oh please .. be grateful that he give Adam and Nile a chance to be back in chart again , too picky .

glitzylady said...

The bottom line is this: It's Avicii's song and album..

From what we've heard re the play in Australia, for instance, Adam and Nile DO get mention by the DJ's when the song is played.. " "Lay Me Down" by Avicii featuring Adam Lambert.." (and sometimes Nile Rogers is also mentioned...). I think that's quite awesome, and I would assume that will happen elsewhere...

Adam must be very excited about this song being released as a single.. Because it IS very very cool! But I suspect also, that he's even MORE excited about his own upcoming new music, which I'm guessing may well include a new single of his own being released about the time that the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour begins...

So much to look forward to this summer and fall!

Soooo, no point in getting upset about this "single cover" design, if it truly IS the actual official cover. I'm just excited to think that the song is getting radio play, MAY be a worldwide release eventually, and perhaps even in the USA.. (we'll see....)..

The LAST thing that Adam needs from his fans is for them to complain publicly (to Avicii himself..to radio...etc...) about Adam not getting his name listed on the single cover...and also he absolutely does NOT need his fans to b***h to the radio DJ's and stations if his name isn't mentioned each and every time the song is spun.. Avicii has many fans all over the world and it is important that THEY request the song as well.. That's going to make a big difference in whether the song is a hit..or not..

I am absolutely hoping the song does well, as in REALLY WELL everywhere it's released... Let's not mess this up for Adam :)))

Just my thoughts.....for what they're worth :)

By the way, I LOVE "Lay Me Down", always have... (I also like the rest of the album #TRUE..lots of good music on there).

Anonymous said...

How many lectures do we need?

Anonymous said...

Avicii did help make Adam's voice and singing come 'alive' like the way he manipulates the staccatos on Lay...lay...lay...and a bit of contortion of Adam voice; not too much but just enough. Also Nile did a superb backdrop with his guitar and shout...Come on...Nile has a rich tenor. Like I said: The Formidable Three.

Lam-my maybe I misunderstood you but the C'mon in LMD is Adam's voice.

Story time...

Adam was lying under a shady Rain tree; oh the Rain tree spreads its branches like a huge umbrella. Suddenly, he heard a voice singing...Lay me down in darkness...tell me what you see... He sat up, looked around; there was no one. Adam laid down again and thought about the good fortune he had been having lately, the past five years actually. And then a hand touched his emerald-blond thick hair. He turned and lo and behold, a squirrel was foraging for some small nuts and accidentally rummaged his luscious hair thinking it could find something nutty. lwl!
Hello Squirrel...Adam smiled and to his astonishment...Squirrel replied sexily: Helloo lovely man. And it scrambled up a long sturdy branch. Another squirrel chased it and soon the Rain tree was teeming with squirrels; what jolly merry-making, thought Adam. Being a joiner, he at once climbed the tree, plodding carefully as not to scare those furry animals. Not sensing any animosity, the squirrels soon climbed all over him nibbling him everywhere, maybe he tasted scrumptious, especially there. lol! Hey Squirrels, lay off, that's Green snake's property; no Trespassing! The climax came when the squirrels burst into song, and their pitch-perfect squeals went beyond the highest note he could sing. A feast for his eyes and ears. They were squealing...Lay me down in darkness...tell me what you see or that was what he heard. Adam was humbled; there's so much one can be inspired from nature even from little squirrels with bushy tails.
At this moment: Meow...meow...and Adam turned and this time a plump cat was looking at him. Goodness gracious, thought Adam; what's happening...A familiar voice faintly called out: Hey Adam, what do you think of adding this guitar run to Lay Me Down. Urgh huh...oh I think it's brilliant...Thanks Nile! Meow...meow, Nile's plump cat had just woken up from its siesta on his keyboard synthesiser, and so did Adam in his snug armchair. lwl!

You're probably right. I was referring to a live Nile show where the three presented LMD and I remember Nile inserting: Come on on stage to rally the audience...not sure if it's in the recording.

I agree wholeheartedly glitzy lady! Let's all be glad LMD was released as a single. We didn't know if it ever would be but only hoped. Perhaps, it will make it to the US. The DJ's would definitely play an Avicii song. It wouldn't be long before people would recognize Adam's vocals I'm sure. So there is a chance Adam would eventually, via Avicii's album, get some radio recognition. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Well said, glitzylady - both posts. LMD is Avicii's song and I'm so pleased it's being released as a single in more and more countries which means more exposure for Adam, and Nile too.

Question:
Will LMD be released as a physical single with this official cover or will it be available on iTunes only?

Lay me down in darkness
Tell me what you see...
I see a handsome, generous man
Who sings for anybody
Be it a teenager's party
A Queen extravaganza or meaningful charity
I like his never-give-up, never-give-in philosophy
And what about that immense energy...
Where does that originate from...
Perhaps a wild guess voluntarily
What about his long-forgotten Viking family tree lol!
Most likely it's genetics
His height and healthy resonance chambers
From where he draws his well-honed, leggiero tenor
His latest music and songs
Like jets from a hot spring, he sends them into the throngs
I feel his moments of reckoning must soon be due
As he fervently plods along his arduous musical avenue

These two lines: Lay me down in darkness...Tell me what you see...Intrigues me because if it's in darkness, how do we see? That's the hook for me. He's trying to say, don't just concentrate on the physical; more the spiritual; look deeper as in 'Underneath'; also it could be a little linked to his breakup with Sauli. Definitely not sure. I think these two lines come directly from Adam.

Very fanciful. Lam-my! I don't mind the lectures, either. Enjoy this LMD for what it is. Aloe Blaac eventually got attention and has made the most of it. Adam doesn't need us whining on the sidelines, annoying DJ's or making Avicii think twice about using him in any more songs.

Anonymous said...

Guys -- "Wake Me Up" had the same kind of cover, Avicii in a different pose, Aloe Blac was NOT on the cover or mentioned on the cover -- yet he became HUGE from that song. A lot of fun is going to be had by DJs who'll say "...from 'Wake Me Up' to 'Lay Me Down'..." blah blah blah, but also, trust me, an even bigger deal is going to be made about Adam than Aloe, and along with Nile -- it's gonna be a smash and a huge success for everyone. I am just RELIEVED the stuffed shirt, uptight, music execs finally said yes. Or maybe they were being smart and planning this all along to be the "pies de resistance" final single release from Avicii's album -- THE summer song of 2014! And I'll bet you'll see Adam, Avicii and Nile on American Idol at least by the time the finale is on.

Definitely LMD is an endless intrique for me too. I feel Adam is revealing something about himself.
I think the name of the album, True, gives also special strength to what he sings. I like to think, that maybe sometimes it is deep, when we expect it the least:D:D! (just imo.)

LMD now playing on 13 Aussie stations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOVA DJ promoted the heck out the track...stating it was his 'favorite' Avicii track and giving oodles of credit also to 'ADAM LAMBERT and NILE RODGERS'
Aussie DJ's hitting it out the ballpark with glowing reviews!

Anonymous said...

Driving home yesterday freaked to hear LMD! It sounded So bloody fantastic!

I'm loving Nile right now!
He has Adams back.

Expecting 'Lay Me Down to hit big.
Great party music.

Anonymous said...

Frankly, Nile was the actual force behind LMD. He had worked out the music with Avicii and then called Adam at midnight to sing. lol! Perhaps that's why Adam sounded vulnerable singing LMD; and I liked it the minute I heard it; a little different but couldn't pinpoint what that quality was. And yes Avicii threw some glitter over it and wallah!

@3:39 AM

I love the way you think, a great post; and a must read in my opinion! Many other good posts also, especially the one's based in reality, recognizing that this is an honor for Adam to have been given this chance to bring his one in a billion vocals to this outstanding project.

All of these established artists and a few Icons that are taking Adam under their wings and mentoring him, while reaping the fruits of his amazing talents; is just absolutely breathtaking and amazing, and was meant to be.

Everything happens for a reason; and pretty soon the whole world will recognize the great talents of this wonderful man called Adam M. Lambert, that we his fans already know and love. Then, I believe, that this lovely man will get the media exposure, and awards that he truly deserves, for his own works of musical art!!

@10:58 AM

Thank you! I believe that @10:24 was the only person that made the, (as they put it) dumb expression that "nothing happens for a reason". I'm just surprised that he or she called their own expressions dumb. I commend them for their honesty though. Perhaps they should think twice before they call anyone's expressions dumb in the future, including their own!!!

Anyone who thinks everything happens for a reason is shockingly ignorant. Horrible things happen every day for no reason at all.

Not that this has anything to do with adam because he is a guy who has had more than his share of luck and good fortune.

OT. Just watching Adam on YouTube. Singing Underneath. . OMG. . crying here . . sings with such emotion . . Wish he could sing some of his ballads with Queen

Anonymous said...

Avicii's pic may be on the cover but everybody hear it's not his voice. So there comes Adam in the spotlight!

Anonymous said...

That's the way EDM works. It's the DJ's song. Stop whining. Aloe got a lot of buzz for Wake Me Up, but was never announced as the singer. Adam and Nile are more well known, so hopefully there will be some buzz.. STOP complaining , it gives Glambert's a bad name.

Anonymous said...

Adam Lambert's voice is so recognizable to many now, especially to those in the music industry, that his is the voice that needs no introduction. What could be higher honor than to be so famous to be known for being the voice so stellar, out of worldly magnificent that it could only be Adam Lambert? I'm really glad Avicii did not have Adam's name or image on the cover. Those who did not know the singer for LMD would have the curiosity piqued, and on discovering the singer is AL, wouldn't that be a beautiful surprise? All is good; we just have to be patient for events to play out to their happy Adam conclusions.

Wake me up in the morning
Lay me down at night
A daily ritual of toil
With a good smattering of joy and light
To take us near or out of sight
Hard though we try, some things just ain't right
Mmm dear Adam flies in with comforting respite
His voice and songs to soothe the savage beast
Before we hit the sack again to turn in for the night
At the break of dawn, light streams in
To break our nightmares or sweet dreams
The whole cycle re-starts as we row
Merrily or treacherously down the winding stream
On occasion, a ray of enlightenment beams
Well, I'm referring endearingly
To the extravaganza concert of Adam and Queen lwl!
