Amazing vocals. The guitar playing.... not so much.

I've never heard this song before but it's sure going to grow on me!

The guitar playing was FINE.

Why would somebody up front wear a hat with that feather blocking other people's views!

Whoa! Adam at his most relaxed best. I think I enjoy blues/jazz though I don't usually listen to it. Hey Adam, you need to include this in your third album. Oh Tommy's guitar is beautiful. I think Adam's band plays jazz/blues music better than the usual pop-rock; like for instance LMD, they were too loud and covered Adam's fantastic singing. In this Red House song, they are so mellow and gives that laissez-faire tone which I like a lot. I like Adam's black/white outfit, so stylishly refreshing and oh that high-note drawl...he's going to titillate some jazz/blues enthusiasts' palates.

Hapy New Year from the Land Down Under.

Wow he sounds plain old hot singing the blues. Got that sounded great. When I was very young I used to go to a place to dance where Blues artist tore it up. Adam just topped each and everyone of them 100 times over. There just is nothing he can't sing and tear it up on stage what a great job. Band sounded very good! That was God that sounded so Good. I hope Adam has some bluesy sounds in his next album. Suits his style and voice. And some new good strong rock wouldn't hurt either! Here's to a fanatastic 2014! I am ready!

If you sing good music it helps,
I hope the 2014 album will forget pop and concentrate on a mix of rock, blues and a reggae beat...
a little funk wouldn't hurt either. If it's good and sung by someone better than good, it will sell. Adam is a grown up with a grown up voice, let people hear what he can do. Trying to sell him to kids is futile, let the ones with taste discover him on their own.

Ashley and Tommy need to trade instruments. He just isn't ever going to be exceptional. He was adequate on bass when there was a strong lead guitar. I know some feel loyal to him, but listen to some exceptional guitarists - that's what Adam needs. What is he waiting for?

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a Jimi Hendrix song. He killed it.

Forget it. Tommy and Adam are huge friends so he won't be going anywhere.

Anonymous said...

Put him on bass

glitzylady said...

It IS a Jimi Hendrix song :)) and yes Adam's interpretation was AWESOME!!

SOOO Sexy, blues-y with a really fabulous rock edge... Adam is at his BEST with this type of music (IMHO)...

(And I don't get all the ongoing Tommy bashing by some here..I thought he sounded fine.. but everyone's entitled to an opinion I suppose...)

Lam-my this was NOT blues/jazz nor was it jazz/blues, it was blues at its finest. Stick to numerology - that's where you shine.

10:15, no not a fan of Sauli. But I have heard a lot of Hendrix and the only good part of tonight's performance was Adam's part.

All you SPOILBERTS - could you please hold / bite your tongue just for one day?!!!? Thank you!

Thank you Adam Lambert & Band - HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YA'LL!

I heard Adam use the term blues, in the video; may not be the classic or real jazz but there is I'm quite sure, some jazz improvisation!
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet...Romeo and Juliet.
Frog in the well...Jump up and smell the roses; there are many shades of roses just as in music!

That sing was put together in one day last minute probably an hour or so. It was very good. Adam sounded exceptional. For just having such little time to learn it Tommy sounded very good. Looks like Adam will most likely be doing some touring with Queen next year. These musicians are not thirty two years old there in their mid sixties and have had many years to get great. You do not know Tommy will never be exceptional because he has improved. Jimmy H. Was just one in Millions as guitarist he was young.
I do feel Tommy is improving each year.
I also agree will 12.45 . Happy New Years Adam and band great job as usual! Jimmy Hendrix as a young man guitarist was a freak of nature he was so exceptional. There just are not many of those. It takes many years to get as good as Brian M if ever, but Tommy sounds just fine to me. He does improve all the time. Sue

I've never liked blues music until now. Adam's voice is meant for this kind of music. That's not to say he isn't excellent at singing rock, reggae, funk, operatic and even pop. There is nothing his voice can't master apparently. Red House is a song I've never heard but listening to Adam's interpretation of it gave me goosebumps! Just WOW! Give that man a mike and let him sing whatever he wants....cuz he can do it all and I'm just glad I'm here on this earth to witness such a mega talented man. Thank you Adam :))))

1:16, why would you say they threw that song together at the last minute? Tommy is a Hendrix fan. He has probably been playing that song for years. Just never near as good as Hendrix.

1:34, blues is so much more than just Red House.

Anonymous said...

Can we have one day without snarky comments. Just listened to song and all I can say is there anything Adam cannot sing. Wonderful interpretation by Adam and Tommy.

Anonymous said...

Love it! Admin posted a "closer version" of this also with even better sound! Is there anything our fantastically talented guy can't sing? I so look forward to 2014...wish I could see Adam live at least once....

@1:51
Give it a rest will you, please!
Your dislike of Tommy is coming through clear and loud. Nobody's saying he's trying to be anything else than Tommy Joe Ratliff, guitar player in Adam's band. Comparing him to J. Hendrix is stupid and you're the only one doing it. Just stop, please.

Adam looking so freaking sexy. Tommy was so good too.

omg the Tommy basher really has issues. She has been on here for years, if you don't like Tommy fine but what the eff do you want us to do about it.

Anonymous said...

I don't see any problem with Tommy playing. They all sounded perfect, especially judging from u-tube videos. Adam can sing anything, a natural live performer.

Anonymous said...

This is 1.16 I said it was put together at the last minute because Adam said it. He said we just put this song together today. Just decided today to do Red House that day they put it together that say. He said it right before he sang it.
So they did not have a lot of time to practice it. I really do not know how much Tommy knows about Hendrix I am not a stalker.
Try listening to the whole vid before you jump on people next time.
Adam sang the crap out of that song.
Tommy in my opinion and I entitled to mine as well. Did just fine.
In fact I thought he did great. Sue

8.26 was meant for 1.51 and yes TJR is not JH he TJR and he just fine. Sue

LOL

As a Hendrix fan, Adam's version of this song is good but not great. It could be the short rehearsal time but it is just OK. Tommy did pretty well for short rehearsal but he is really into the Blues.

Anonymous said...

Someone always has to bash Tommy and I think it is always the same person. I really believe that person has a problem with Tommy's friendship with Adam. Tommy did a great job and so did the other band members. I love this bluesy/jazzy sound coming from the band and Adam.

Anonymous said...

9:31, there is definitely more than one person here that doesn't think Tommy is fantastic.

Anonymous said...

Lots more and don't care anything about Tommy 's friendship with Adam , it's fine with me, but Adam needs a strong guitarist or just forget it and let Brian play keyboard accompaniment with drums and bass. It's the music, not the person.

You're the same as some Freddie M or Gaga fans... Adam's not trying to do these cover songs like the original versions or top the original performances/performers, so why even compare!? And with Red House, 'grading' the performance is even sillier, cause this was the first time they did it... Adam always get betterer each time he performs a new song and outshines HIMSELF...He is not about outshining his own idols -- although imo he always does it eventually...cause his voice and singing is just THAT good, unsurpassed!!!

Anonymous said...

1:49, you are just like some Adam Lambert fans, thinking he is the best at everything. You said it's not about comparing then said Adam is unsurpassed. Do you even see the irony in your comment?

Anonymous said...

Unsurpassed as a word is wonderful to use. Unsurpassed is NOT comparing.
It just means what it says. Unsurpassed. lol

Anonymous said...

5:31, it is a comparison.
From the OED:
unsurpassed
adjective

as good as or better than any other:

the quality of workmanship is unsurpassed

Anonymous said...

yeah, but the beauty of the word is when using it you don't mention anyone else, you don't compare to anyone particular... peace!
